There's A 'Pierogi Fest' In Montreal This Month With Poutine-Topped Pierogis

Warm, pillowy, potatoey, cheesy, doughy dumplings deserve to be celebrated.
Senior Writer

A family-run Eastern European street food restaurant in Montreal's Sud-Ouest is throwing a "Pierogi Fest" complete with a live DJ, raffle, outdoor games and — of course — warm, pillowy, potatoey, cheesy, doughy, delicious pierogis.

Goplana, which turns 15 around the time of the festival, will be serving up a special pierogi menu. You'll get your choice of whether to top potato and onion stuffed pierogis with vegan chilli, poutine or traditional Polish-style sauerkraut and sausage.

"We would like to take this opportunity to say 'BIG thank you' for over a decade of continuous support, numerous friendships and collaborations," wrote owner Kamila Bryla in an Instagram post promoting the event.

"There is no better way to say thank you, but with food."

The raffle will be a 50/50 raffle with the winner getting 50% of the profits.

The other 50% will be donated to Resilience Montreal, a non-profit day shelter offering food, clean clothes and a place to sleep to those in need.
