All Quebecers across the province aged 60 and over will soon be able to reserve COVID-19 vaccine dose appointments, health minister Christian Dubé confirmed in a press conference on April 7.

Appointments for a dose of a COVID-19 vaccine in Quebec will be available as of April 8, he said. In regions with limited doses, appointments will be available in the coming weeks.

The health minister also acknowledged the "reticence" of some Quebecers who have avoided receiving the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine for fear of health complications after reports of a possible link to blood clots surfaced in other countries.

Dubé said Quebecers aged 55 and over who want to receive the AstraZeneca vaccine would be able to benefit from an earlier vaccine appointment.

"If people who already have appointments [in April or May] would like to [make] an appointment this week or go without an appointment, they can do [so] and cancel their other appointment," he said.
