On December 4, the city opened a brand-new Christmas market in Montreal at Jean-Talon Market, complete with holiday-themed stations and wintery foods.

"For its first edition, this small Christmas market offers visitors the chance to make gastronomic discoveries and enjoy local crafts," the website reads.

The website also says the north aisle is filled with a dozen small decorated wooden chalets.

And there's even a warming centre to heat "the heart and body" on chillier days.

All of Montreal's Christmas markets are maintaining COVID-19 public health protocols with limited entry, social distancing, hand-washing stations and mandatory masks.

The Village de Noël de Montreal at Atwater Market, which reopened for its fifth year on November 26, attracted huge lineups that spilled into the parking lot.

It remains to be seen how the Jean-Talon Market will compare!

Jean-Talon Market's first-ever Christmas village will run every weekend until December 20 as well as the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday before Christmas.
