Quebec Is Launching A New Tool To Help You Get COVID-19 Test Results Faster

In the midst of the second wave of COVID-19, the Quebec government will soon launch a new tech tool designed to improve the screening process — and it may help you receive your test results more quickly.

The Ministry of Health and Social Services made this announcement on October 22 in a press release.

Through the Health Connect platform, developed by Deloitte, the Legault government intends to take the screening process — from making an appointment online to receiving results by text message — and outbreak control "to the next level."

We are taking the bull by the horns. This solution has many advantages, both for the population and for the personnel of the health . . . network.

The Health Connect is a self-assessment tool that will be integrated into an already existing digital platform, the ministry says.

This new platform will reduce wait times for screening and allow for faster disclosure of results.

It will also free up "thousands of hours" for health care professionals, who will be able to focus on clinical rather than administrative tasks.

The CIUSSS du Nord-de-l’Île-de-Montréal and the CIUSSS de la Capitale-Nationale are currently participating in the pilot project.

The platform will be deployed in screening clinics in the rest of Quebec "within 6 to 8 weeks," says the government.
