A new cat café is opening in Montreal so you can get your coffee with a side of cuddles
Where every sip is pawsitively delightful! 🐾

A cat at a café. Right: Cats in front of a couch and brick wall.
If you prefer your caffeine with a side of kitty cuddles, then you're in luck because Montreal is getting a new cat café where you can interact with furry companions while enjoying a beverage or bite.
Café Chat l'Heureux (Happy Cat Café Montreal) has announced that it's opening an additional location, bringing the joy of purrs and lattes beyond the borders of the Plateau to a second home in The Village.
"Come and discover our new cats (who will live with some old ones)," reads an Instagram post from Café Chat l'Heureux. "The space has been even better designed for our wonderful cats."
All of the cats at Café Chat l'Heureux come from shelters in Greater Montreal. While some are permanent members of the team, such as Gustave and Sheldon (who you might remember from hilarious cat election posters that popped up during Montreal's 2021 election), others are up for adoption as part of a partnership with Proanima refuge.
According to Café Chat l'Heureux's Instagram post, the menu at the new spot will be the same as the original avenue Duluth location, which means you'll be able to enjoy dishes like the Cat Lady — country bread with fig jam, honey, goat cheese, cheddar and caramelized onions — as well as smoothies, homemade desserts and a variety of coffee and tea beverages. There are also lots of vegan options.
The grand opening is set to take place on October 5 at 11 a.m. You'll find the new digs at 1374, rue Ontario E.
