A 20-year-old Osheaga-goer was found dead at Parc Jean-Drapeau on Sunday
The tragedy occurred in the final hours of the festival.

A 20-year-old concert-goer's body was found on the grounds of Montreal's Parc Jean-Drapeau Sunday night while the popular Osheaga music festival was taking place.
The Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) received 911 calls at around 7:45 p.m., after witnesses spotted a person swimming in the Olympic Basin before — most likely — drowning. The Service de sécurité incendie de Montréal (SIM) recovered the body at around 9 p.m., the SPVM confirmed to Narcity Québec.
It is not currently known whether the victim had consumed drugs or alcohol before entering the water. An SPVM spokesperson told MTL Blog that the file has been transferred to the coroner's office for further investigation.
In response to a request for comment, Osheaga promoter evenko provided this email statement to Narcity Québec, originally written in French:
"We learned of the death of one of the festival-goers last night, following his departure from the site. We are deeply saddened by this tragic death and our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of this young man. We are cooperating with the SPVM investigation that is currently underway in connection with this sad event."
This isn't the first time this type of incident has occurred during Osheaga.
In 2018, 18-year-old Collins Obiagboso went missing on the Friday of the festival. The following Monday, the SPVM was contacted by Longueuil police after the young man's body washed up on the shore of the Saint Lawrence River. The Coroner's Investigative Report confirmed that the cause of death had been drowning.
