Garbage collectors found a body in an Hochelaga-Maisonneuve trash can early Monday morning, SPVM spokesperson Veronique Comtois reported.

An 8:50 a.m. 911 call alerted authorities to the discovery near the intersection of rue Adam and avenue Letourneux.

The individual, whose identity has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene. Comtois said the death is being treated as suspicious, and an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances of the incident.
