Montreal is a fantastic city for young people. Between shops and restaurants, the creativity blooming in the air and the fact that there's so much to see and explore, it's definitely an ideal spot to live in. That said, like so much these days, it can also be quite pricey. But if you look hard enough, you can find some surprisingly cheap apartments for rent in Montreal that won't cost you an arm and a leg.

One of the most popular neighbourhoods for us youngins is the Plateau.

According to Walkscore.ca, it's got a walking score of 93/100 and a transit score of 80/100. That means it's not only incredibly accessible on foot, but is has fantastic transit within its perimeters.

My personal favourites are the jaw-dropping street art and local cafes. And don't forget the fact that it's so close to the mountain!

If all of these sound like characteristics that interest you when you're looking for your next apartment to rent, take a look at these apartments for rent in the Plateau that are not only affordable, but wonderful places to live.
