A man in his forties was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run in Montreal on Friday night. The incident occurred at the intersection of rue Berri and boulevard de Maisonneuve around 6:00 p.m.

The Montreal police (SPVM) said the car was travelling northbound on rue Berri and struck the pedestrian after he attempted to cross the street without priority — not giving the vehicle enough time to break.

Just after 8 a.m. on Tuesday, a child was struck and "seriously injured" in a hit-and-run near the intersection of rue Parthenais and rue de Rouen in the Ville-Marie borough, according to SPVM media spokesperson Julien Lévesque. The minor, a pedestrian, was quickly taken to the hospital in critical condition. Further info on the child's condition has not yet been disclosed.

Investigators are currently working to determine more about the incident, including by speaking to witnesses at the scene.

Two people, an 11-year-old and a 42-year-old, are dead after a collision involving several vehicles on Highway 30 in Brossard on the Montreal South Shore. At least 10 were sent to the hospital, eight with non-life-threatening injuries and two, a 16-year-old and 52-year-old, in critical condition. Officials currently fear for their lives.

The collision occurred on the highway's eastbound section near the Grande Allée exit shortly before 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Two pedestrians in their 80s were injured after a car hit them as they crossed a downtown street on Monday morning. The collision took place around 9 a.m. at the intersection of rues Sherbrooke and Guy in the Ville-Marie borough. An 83-year-old man suffered severe head injuries and was rushed to the hospital, while a woman in her 80s was also hurt after being thrown to the ground.

"The pedestrians were probably crossing during a red light, so the driver couldn't avoid the collision," said Montreal police spokesperson Raphaël Bergeron.

According to Officer Manuel Couture of the SPVM, the hit-and-run occurred around 10:45 p.m on Tuesday night. An unidentified driver crashed into multiple cars parked on the street in a residential area on rue Berri near rue Sauriol in the borough of Ahuntsic-Cartierville.
