This carriage house for sale in Montreal is straight out of a 'Bridgerton' fairytale (PHOTOS)
There are a lot of reasons to watch TV's Bridgerton from the fairytale-like romances to the dramatic plotlines to the steamy sex scenes. But ultimately, the show provides viewers with a (highly fictionalized) window into aristocratic life in Regency-era England.
Luckily, the historical inaccuracy doesn't take away from the breathtaking period costumes and sets, which of course includes the real estate. You may not have thought about it this way before, but Bridgerton could be the go-to Netflix show for sneaking a peek at extraordinary properties... sorry, Selling Sunset.
Truth be told, you don't actually need to turn to Netflix to see incredible homes — even ones that look like they're straight off the set of Bridgerton. For example, take a look at this modernized carriage house that's for sale in Montreal right now.

Built just after the Victorian era in 1913, the 111-year-old property has been listed by realtor Sylvie Lalancette of Keller Williams Prestige for an asking price of $650,000.

While this carriage house wasn't built during the exact same time period as Bridgerton, which takes place mostly in the 1800s, horse and carriage was the most popular mode of transportation throughout both eras.
Before this property was converted into a modern Montreal home, it was used as an outbuilding to house horse-drawn carriages for a nearby mansion.

Located in the hills of the Golden Square Mile, a stone's throw from Parc du Mont-Royal, Westmount and McGill University, the house has seven rooms, including one bedroom and one-and-a-half bathrooms.

Despite being modernized, it still has many unique touches that contribute to its elegant, historic charm, such as an arched wooden door, an embellished skylight and a hand-painted fresco.

Contemporary finishes include heated ceramic floors and Quebec silver maple floors, as well as stainless steel appliances in the kitchen.

To add to the Bridgerton comparison, there's even a private courtyard with a Greek statue — however, it doesn't seem spacious enough for debutantes wanting somewhere to stroll during the social season.

For those of you reading this article strictly for the Bridgeton vibes, we advise you to ignore the next picture.
The real estate agency has included several virtually staged photos that show us what the home could look like if renovated. You can see a staged version of the main living room below — and it's vastly different from how it looks now.

Even if you're not convinced this home belongs on the set of Bridgerton, with its castle-like exterior and lush, hilly surroundings, it could at least be reminiscent of the Scottish countryside.
Yet, positioned within walking distance of the Museum of Fine Arts, The Ritz-Carlton, Club Atwater and more, the far-away seeming property is smack-dab in the heart of Montreal, making it all the more special.
