You Can Float Your Way Down This River Just 1 Hour From Montreal

Or kayak, if you're up for the challenge.
Contributing Writer

Summer is for kicking back and relaxing, taking in the scenery and getting outside. And, of course, jumping into the water. At Au Diable Vert, which is less than an hour from Montreal, you can do all of these things at once.

Located less than an hour from the city at the base of Mont Sutton in the Eastern Townships of Quebec is Au Diable Vert, offering lodging, activities and stunning surroundings.

And what's better than one mountain range? Two mountain ranges. Au Diable Vert is nestled between the Quebec peaks Owl's Head and Mont Sutton, as well as Jay Peak, Vermont.

With so many summer activities, it's the perfect spot to explore the wonder that is Quebec in the summertime.

One of the most popular activities is river tubing — and for good reason. How many ways are there to cool off, soak up the sun and soak in over a kilometre of views? Not too many.

And we don't wanna brag, but we know that Quebec has some of the most spectacular views in the world.

You start off by taking a 15-minute stroll down the gravel path until you reach a rocky bank.

Hop in the tube and make your way lazily down the river, listening to the gentle stream below you that's blissfully taking you away. The ride is 30 minutes, but you can just head back to the start and ride again and again!

It's so reasonable, too. You'll get two hours for $10, while $15 will get you four hours and $20 will give you a pass for the whole day. Tubes and life jackets for the little ones are provided.

This is the perfect activity for those who want a quick adventure or are venturing outdoors for the first time.

After all, the water is only 3"-3' deep.

While you're there, check out the other amazing activities on-site, including moonlight kayaking, stargazing, and camping out in a treehouse.

So the next time you're looking to cool off and cross something off your bucket list, consider heading to this amazing site.

It'll make you remember why summers in Quebec are unlike any other.
