Alan Ritchson Told Jimmy Fallon How He Heroically Stopped A Car Burglary In Montreal (VIDEO)

Alan Ritchson channelled his inner Jack Reacher while on a date night in Montreal and he gushed all about with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show.

During his time on Fallon, Alan Ritchson discussed his latest project Ordinary Angels, as well as the upcoming third season of The Reacher, a role Ritchson said he had to emulate when taking down a thief in Old Montreal.

Ritchson and his wife first noticed a man's feet dangling out of a car, glass broken and all, while walking about the Old Port. By the time the person in question exited the car with four duffle bags, Ritchson was certain they were witnessing a car theft.

Ritchson said the thief ran by him and his wife and described him as an "ACME villain," and considering Ritchson's size and past heroic roles, it was only fitting for him to sprint into action.

Despite his wife trying to convince him to ignore the break-in and continue on with their date, Ritchson was already chasing the burglar down the street.

"He turned the corner and took a left, so I took a left," Ritchson explained to Fallon. "I come around the corner and the dude is like David Copperfield…gone."

Luckily, a bystander saw the burglar crawl under a van, where Ritchson found him laid out starfish style.

"Just give it up!" Ritchson told the car burglar. It was then that the thief bolted up and tried to make another run for it.

"He was fast," Ritchson told Fallon. "But I'm faster."

After coming side to side with the thief, who balled up his hands and pushed Ritchson, the actor, who described himself as a "pacifist at heart," grabbed the burglar like a discus and "twirled him right into the building."

The thief was thrown into a wall and slid right down it like a "cartoon character," Ritchson described.

Turns out, Ritchson not only stopped the burglar, but he did what the SPVM have likely been trying to do for ages. Ritchson explained to Fallon that the police told him that the thief was one of the most "prolific car burglars in Old Montreal…and we finally got him!"

As Ritchson made his way back to his wife, the couple whose car was broken into was now there and thanked Ritchson for bolting into action.

"It was a wonderful day," Ritchson said.

We bet it was.
