2 Quebec destinations were ranked among the best cities in Canada to retire

When it comes to the best cities in Canada for retirement, it appears as if Quebec should definitely be on your radar.

For those hoping to retire soon, selecting where you want to spend your older years is certainly no easy feat. Luckily, ConfidenceClub, an Australian-based company that specializes in self-care products for the elderly, dropped its list of the best cities in Canada to retire in.

The study looked at factors to rank countries and cities on their ability to support a fulfilling, secure, and healthy retirement. Factors used to compile the ranking include: balance between old and young populations, emigration, healthcare, safety, life expectancy and life satisfaction.

Each category was given a score out of 10, for a total score of 60. This was then converted into a percentage to reach a score out of a possible 100.

So, which Canadian city came out on top?

Turns out Quebec City (75) is the number one Canadian destination for retirement and 24th globally. According to ConfidenceClub, Quebec City scored highest on the safety index and performed exceptionally well in factors such as elderly/youth balance and healthcare.

Montreal (70) also made the cut, ranking fourth overall. While no other Quebec spot made the cut, having two cities from la belle province make the top five is certainly a feat in and of itself.

Ottawa (72), Calgary (72) and Vancouver (70) all made up the remainder of the top five best cities in Canada to retire in.
