With summer well underway, you may be yearning for a trip somewhere fun, and Canadians don't have to go too far after one spot in the true north was ranked among the best places to travel this year.
Travel Lemming, an online travel guide, has ranked the 50 Best Places To Visit In 2024, and one Canadian destination made the list. While cities like Vancouver, Toronto, and Montreal are always must-sees in Canada, a more underrated spot is getting some well-deserved recognition.
"This year, our list is filled with places perfect for longer trips and embracing a slower – and more sustainable – pace of travel," Travel Lemming wrote.
One of these perfect places is St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. Situated on the eastern tip of Canada, facing the North Atlantic Ocean, St. John's is a charming city known for its fresh seafood, stunning landscapes, and time-honored traditions.
Travel Lemming suggests visiting St. John's between May and September. During this time, you can explore attractions like Signal Hill, which offers breathtaking views of the surrounding areas, Cape Spear with its remarkable lighthouse, and the East Coast Trail, where hidden coves await discovery.
The travel guide also recommends sampling the local craft beers, especially at Quidi Vidi Brewery. For history enthusiasts, The Rooms museum is a must-visit, and for spectacular cliffside views, a drive along the Irish Loop will be the cherry on top of your trip.
The list also includes a variety of destinations from around the globe, such as Kodiak, Alaska; Yucatán, Mexico; Stavanger, Norway; Phú Quốc, Vietnam; Tunis, Tunisia; and Ljubljana, Slovenia, to name a few.
