Cineplex is giving away free popcorn all weekend in Montreal — Here’s how to claim yours

Go get that bag!

A bag of Cineplex popcorn.

Cineplex theatres across Quebec are offering free popcorn for National Popcorn Day.

Senior Writer

Montreal movie lovers are in for a real treat this weekend. Cineplex is turning National Popcorn Day into National Popcorn Weekend, and from January 17 to 19, you can snag a free bag of their famous popcorn.

The best part? You don't even have to step foot into a movie theatre to get in on the deal.

Let us explain.

Free popcorn at the theatre

If you're catching a movie at any Cineplex location in Montreal (or anywhere in Canada for that matter), all Scene+ members can claim a free small bag of popcorn with their movie ticket. Here's how it works:

  • Buy a ticket for any in-theatre movie showing that weekend.
  • Visit the theatre on the day of your show.
  • Scan your Scene+ membership card at the concession stand.
  • Enjoy your bag.

This deal is available once per member per day, so you can technically grab a free bag of popcorn on Friday, Saturday and Sunday if you have tickets for each day.

Free popcorn at home

If you're not planning on heading to a theatre, Cineplex has you covered at home, too. From January 17 to 19, you'll get a free small bag of popcorn with any food order placed through Cineplex on DoorDash, SkipTheDishes or Uber Eats.

Just pick something from the Cineplex menu, and the popcorn will automatically be added to your delivery — no extra steps are required. There's a limit of one popcorn bag per delivery order.

So, whether you're catching a flick on the big screen or streaming something at home, this weekend is all about complimentary kernels. Happy snacking!
