Legault Suggests 3 Regions Around Montreal Could Soon Have Their Restaurants Reopen

Premier François Legault suggested on Tuesday that Quebec restaurants could soon reopen in three regions around Montreal: Lanaudière, Laurentides, and Montérégie, which he hopes to make orange zones in the near future.

"We feel that it is coming, the orange zone and the restaurants. So, I hope to soon have the green light from Public Health in these three large regions," Legault said.

According to the Government of Quebec's website, an orange alert level means restaurants can allow a maximum of two adults from different addresses to sit at the same table.

Members of the same household can also dine together.

Gyms in these zones are also generally allowed to reopen with limited capacity and health measures in effect. 

However, even in orange zones, there is still a 9:30 p.m. curfew in place, and private gatherings remain prohibited.
