With Montreal moving into the yellow zone, Montrealers will be ecstatic to find out that the new rules will finally allow for our favourite bars and pubs to welcome us back indoors.

At a press conference on Tuesday, Premier François Legault announced that Montreal will become a yellow zone as of Monday, June 14.

Bars will only be allowed to welcome back people indoors at 50% capacity, according to the yellow zone rules.

The other rules listed online are:

  • "the occupants from not more than two private residences per table;

  • "a distance of two metres between the tables;

  • "customers must remain seated at their tables;

  • "dancing and singing are prohibited;

  • "the operators must record customer contact information;

  • "the customers must live in a yellow or green zone;"

  • and "the establishments must close at midnight (alcohol sales must stop at 11 p.m.)."

Bar and pub terrasses, meanwhile, are set to open on June 11.
