Several mega projects are currently underway that will transform Montreal's metro map. The extension of the STM blue line, and the addition of the Réseau express métropolitain and the REM de l'Est, will multiply the size of the city's rail transit network.
A map released by CDPQ Infra, the company behind the REM projects, gives Montrealers an exciting glimpse at the future of transit service.

The map highlights the intermodal stations along the REM and REM de l'Est.
The latter, a new light-rail network announced in December 2020, will be distinct from the other REM network, extending east from downtown Montreal before splitting into two lines.
One line will go north toward Cégep Marie-Victorin and the other will continue east to Pointe-aux-Trembles.
The REM de l'Est will meet the STM blue line along its extended route to Anjou, and the green line at Honoré-Beaugrand and Assomption stations.
An interchange will also be possible with the forthcoming Pie-IX bus rapid line.
CDPQ Infra is posting info on the REM de l'Est on its Instagram and Facebook pages.
Its sister network, meanwhile, will connect the North and South Shores and West Island with downtown along 67 kilometres of light-rail tracks.
The REM's first train cars are already undergoing testing on new tracks on the South Shore.
