Montreal's Lebanese food scene is expanding as a popular taouk chain from Lebanon is set to open its first-ever Canadian location right here in Montreal.

While Montreal is home to countless Lebanese fast food spots including Amir, Boustan, Basha and Shawarmaz, nothing comes close to the real deal back in Lebanon. Luckily, Montrealers will be able to savour an authentic taouk sandwich as if they were enjoying it on the streets of Beirut.

Lebanon's very own Malak Al Tawouk, which was originally founded in 1996, will open its doors in Montreal on Ave. du Parc this Saturday, March 23, at 7 p.m. Known for its signature sandwiches, burgers and side snacks, Malak Al Tawouk is bringing the tastes of Lebanon to the 514.

Any visit to this eatery back in Lebanon would result in pure bliss, thanks to the fresh pickles, garlic, ketchup and french fries added to their chicken sandwiches. Yes, french fries — the true Lebanese way.

With Malak Al Tawouk opening its first spot in Montreal, it's safe to say the new Lebanese restaurant will fit right in. Serving up its classic dishes, guests can also dive into an array of burgers including the breaded mozzarella patty, the fish filet or the delicious beef patty burger topped with coleslaw, fresh tomatoes, onions and ketchup.

Platters are also available, which include marinated chicken breast bites, halloumi bites or Lebanese soujouk sausage served alongside pita bread, french fries and a salad of your choice.

With over 35 Malak Al Tawouk branches in Lebanon, the restaurant has since expanded to other regions across the Middle East, such as the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Iraq. Now, the new Montreal location marks the Lebanese restaurant's first-ever North American location.

Yallah, let's eat.
