Calling all night owls! Picture this: it's 9 p.m., and all you want is a cozy spot for a post-dinner coffee to keep the night going. Or, maybe you're cramming for midterms and desperately need a change of scenery before your room drives you crazy. Perhaps you're an artist burning the midnight oil, looking for a warm, inviting place to get your creativity flowing.

If you like to be out late but don't want to be at the club till close, the city's night cafés are perfect for you. No matter what you're looking for, Montreal has several cafés open late just for you.

From charming atmospheres to exceptional coffee, these six MTL cafés are must-tries in the city.

Café Olimpico

Price: 💸💸

Address: Multiple locations

Why You Need To Go: Café Olimpico, or "Open Da Oly," is a Montreal classic for a reason. The vintage charm, incredible coffee, and fresh pastries make Olimpico an incredible spot to savour the finer things in life.

Open until midnight in Old Port and Mile-End, it's a well-known city-wide favourite for a cozy evening coffee. The atmosphere, filled with dark woods and vintage wall art, makes you feel like part of the family. Its flagship café, located on the bustling St. Viateur Street, is one of the most popular spots in the city.

Few places can match the lively atmosphere of Olimpico. If you want a seat, it's best to avoid peak hours, but you'll always find a variety of people at Olimpico: families enjoying an espresso and cannoli together, artists drawing in sketchbooks, students and entrepreneurs working, and others just enjoying the moment.
