Montreal Is Getting 3 Colourful Pop-Up Vegan Terrasses Along The Water This Summer

They'll be adding a tropical feel to the city. 🍹☀️
Contributing Writer

The same people behind Montreal's Christmas village have now found ways to continue spreading joy during the hot season, by creating pop-up terrasses called "Les Guinguettes" around the city.

These cute spots are described as an "ideal opportunity to enjoy a sweet vacation atmosphere just a few steps from home."

Les Guinguettes

"Like a summer resort, the Guinguettes invite citizens to reclaim the banks of the St. Lawrence River, the Lachine Canal and the Rivière des Prairies in a colourful setting: dining tables, lounge chairs, a stage for outdoor shows and lights creating a magnificent evening ambience," the company explained in a press release.

The term "Guinguettes" comes from France and are known as spots to chill, eat, relax and dance. These pop-up terrasses will start opening up in these three locations starting June 9 and admission will be totally free.

Each location will have a vegan restaurant where you'll be able to try burgers, tapas, churros and waffles.
