In an open letter directed to Quebec's young adults, Health Minister Christian Dubé proclaimed his empathy for everything that the province's youth had to go through this year, including job losses and school closures. 

"You may have felt like you weren't a priority, and I can understand why," wrote the health minister.

As the province ramps up its vaccination effort, gradually opening up vaccine appointments to people under 30 throughout the week, Dubé stressed that young people need to "surprise us and get a huge number of vaccinations."

In a Twitter post, Dubé claimed that 50% of Quebecers between 30 and 34 have already booked their vaccine appointments. 

"We're going to do everything we can to gradually reopen the activities we miss but I'm counting on you to get the vaccine," concluded the letter.
