The Habs' Head Coach Will Be Back For Game 3 Of The Final After Isolating Due To COVID-19

The Montreal Canadiens' interim head coach Dominique Ducharme will be back behind the bench on July 2 for Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final at the Bell Centre in Montreal, according to a tweet from the team's account. 

Ducharme has been self-isolating at home after testing positive for COVID-19 on June 18.

Assistant coaches Luke Richardson, Alex Burrows and Sean Burke ran the bench during Ducharme's absence throughout the Habs' semi-final series against the Vegas Golden Knights.

"Coach Ducharme has been partially vaccinated with his second shot administered less than 2 weeks ago, on June 9. Per NHL COVID Protocols, Coach Ducharme was immediately isolated from the team," said the NHL's official statement on June 18.

The Canadiens and the Tampa Bay Lightning are set to face off on June 28.
