Montreal Libraries Are Officially Allowed To Reopen, According To Mayor Plante

On January 18, Mayor Valérie Plante took to her Instagram stories to announce the news that Montreal libraries are officially allowed to reopen.

The City of Montreal is reopening study spaces in public libraries across the city by reservation only.

Space will be available by reservation, which is available online on the website of your chosen location, by telephone or in-person, Mayor Plante told MTL Blog.

The mayor says that people can come to work, study or simply to use the internet.

She acknowledged the fact that not everyone has a stable internet connection or can easily study/work from home.

Montrealers will also be able to reserve books, but browsing the shelves won't be possible just yet.

"We're here to facilitate your lives during times that aren't always easy," Plante said.
