Surprise Circus Shows Will Take Over The Streets Of Montreal This July
One of Montreal's favourite summer festivals is back to take over the streets — well, almost. Montréal Completement en Cirque is coming back this summer with a new edition they've dubbed Montréal Presque Cirque, a celebration of circus in the city streets to help us all forget about the pandemic for a little while. Presented by TOHU and Loto-Québec, the first (and hopefully only) edition of Montréal Presque Cirque is coming to a neighbourhood near you!
One of the main attractions will be the surprise shows in the Quartier des Spectacles.
Circus performers, accompanied by musicians from the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, will perform on secret dates to the delight of passers-by.
But you don't have to travel all the way downtown to see some awesome circus performances.
The Montréal Presque Cirque Festival will spontaneously pop up around neighbourhood streets and alleyways all summer long on secret dates with the Bonheur mobile.
So, be on the lookout.
Over the course of the festival program, rue Saint-Denis will be transformed into a film set to produce Au hazard de la Ville, an eight-episode series complete with trampoline acts, juggling, and so much more.
Those of you who love the circus and work in the industry, the International Market of Contemporary Circus is collaborating with the Montréal Presque Cirque Festival to bring leading industry workshops in the comfort of your home.
In addition to the shows, the festival will also host free online workshops for circus performers from July 6 to 9.

The festival invites all locals to watch the passing show from their balconies or front yards.
To avoid large gatherings, the festival won't be announcing the dates in advance.
