Montreal Police Arrested 6 People & Gave Out 192 Tickets During The 2nd Night Of Protests

The tickets were for health rule violations.

After a second night of protests in downtown Montreal, the SPVM is reporting that it made six arrests and gave out 192 tickets for public health rule violations.

Five arrests were for alleged obstruction of police and a sixth was for an alleged assault on an officer.

One officer was injured.

SPVM officers also wrote 17 general reports, which will be sent to a Crown prosecutor, police spokesperson Jean-Pierre Brabant said.

The April 12 protest followed a larger, destructive demonstration the night before, which left multiple storefronts damaged.
