Royalmount has completely transformed from a drive-in theatre into the city's newest event space. Meet Jardin Royalmount: a 20,000-square-foot open-air garden and theatre in the Town of Mount Royal, which is hosting a summer lineup of comedy shows, pop-up supper clubs, concerts, parties and more starting July 2.

There will also be Jeopardy and Family-Feud-style game nights, catered movie nights with sit-down meals, specialty brunches, workout classes and fashion shows.

Leisa Lee, a spokesperson for the venue, told MTL Blog that tickets for its first event — an îleSoniq party featuring local DJ Misstress Barbara — sold out within 20 minutes.

MTL Blog spoke to Adam Bultz and Lorne Levitt, Jardin Royalmount's co-founders, about the transformation — and we also got a sneak peek at the space via these renderings.

"We created a venue that is convertible and as adaptable as possible," Levitt said.

He said its main open-air garden includes a stage for concerts, and it's connected to an indoor pavilion through sliding glass walls, allowing for fresh air and shelter combined.

"We're still going to have our classic theme nights like Grease [and] girls' night out, [...] but we also have some [movies] that no one was able to see in theatres [...] you're gonna be able to see them for the first time, you don't have to stream it, you can actually see it, you can enjoy it," said Bultz.

"And more importantly, [...] you can drink, you're going to be able to get bottle service, you're going to be able to have beers and mocktails and cocktails."

The duo said during sit-down meals and events, musicians and circus performers will roam the gardens for "perfect Instagrammable moments" you can enjoy with the whole family.
