A series of raids from February to March conducted by the SPVM's investigators from the ACCES and Proceeds of Crime Unit resulted in the seizure of "220 kg of illegal shisha tobacco, eight vehicles used for contraband and nearly $12,000 in cash."

The police raids were part of an investigation into "an active network of contraband tobacco distributors," which, according to the SPVM, had several dealers in Montreal.
