Santé Montréal Wants Anyone Who's Been To A Bar Since July 1 To Get Tested For COVID-19

This also goes for people who've worked in a bar recently.

With a number of people testing positive for COVID-19 days after frequenting Montreal bars, public health authorities are now asking anyone who has stepped foot in a bar, as an employee or client, to consider getting tested.

Santé Montréal's press release regarding this subject asks individuals who have been in a bar since the beginning of the month "to call 514-644-4545 to be directed to the right resource" in order to get tested for the virus.

Despite the measures put in place by bar owners, contagious customers or employees have attended at least 5 establishments since July 1.

Mayor Valérie Plante is asking that Montrealers spread the word about this recommendation.

In a tweet on July 11, Plante wrote "Anyone who has been at a bar since July 1st, please follow this PSA. The nice summer weather may be upon us, but the virus is far from gone. For everyone’s safety, let's respect public health guidelines: stay safe, respect the 2m distance, wear a face-covering."
