The Montreal Canadiens recently gathered on ice at Centre Bell for their traditional team photo session. Although the final team shot is still pending, the Habs gave fans a glimpse into their playful camaraderie with behind-the-scenes snapshots, revealing a lighter (and goofier) side to some of the team's prominent names.

In the spotlight during the team pic was of course Cole Caufield, who can be seen smiling ear to ear in the very first shot shared on the Canadiens' official Instagram page. Standing in between Juraj Slafkovský and Kirby Dach, Caufield's grin tells us everything we need to know about how that day went. That and the fact that the trio are all looking in opposite directions.

Cole Caufield has been taking the NHL by storm since being selected 15th overall during the 2019 NHL draft. The Habs star has since left a trail of awe-struck hockey fans in his wake, scoring a total of 84 regular-season points and 12 more in the playoffs in this three-season (so far) run with the Montreal Canadiens.

The list of impressive players to have graced the ice as Canadiens is a long one, given the team's history, but it's safe to say that the team managed to find one of its newest superstars in Caufield, who can be described as nothing short of a hockey prodigy. With sharp skills and a burning passion for the game, Caufield has quickly become the heart and soul of the present-day Montreal Canadiens franchise along with a few other big names including team captain Nick Suzuki, Brendan Gallagher, and up-and-comer Juraj Slafkovsky – all of whom have brought new life to the team's storied legacy.

Only hours before the Montreal Canadiens are expected to face off against the Toronto Maple Leafs, the National Hockey League (NHL) has announced that Habs star Cole Caufield will not finish the remainder of the season.

In a Saturday morning press conference, head coach Martin St-Louis provided more details regarding the situation.

In August, McDonald's Canada announced the newest addition to the menu, the McCrispy. In a recent McDonald's commercial, Montreal Canadiens left winger, Cole Caufield promotes the new spicy version of the sandwich. Caufield's role in the ad is pretty epic, but we just can't get over how trippy the whole advert is.

Within the first few seconds of the video, the NHL star can be seen grabbing his order from the counter: a spicy McCrispy, fries and a Sprite. Classic! Caulfield then thanks the McDonald's cashier in his best French accent and we've gotta admit, it's kinda cute.

If you're well-versed in Montreal Canadiens fan gossip, you may have seen social media go ablaze with intrigue after Cole Caufield posted an Instagram story suggesting he had put down roots in the city and bought his own home.

The cryptic story post showed Caufield sitting with a dog between his legs in the bay window of an empty room, with the blinds strategically drawn so that viewers couldn't deduce the location from the view outside (though fans on Twitter still tried). He captioned the photo with a key emoji 🔑 and confirmed the location by indicating the local area code, 514.

Hockey nicknames are ubiquitous in the NHL. Pretty much everyone has one. But let's face it, most of them are just names like "Gally" — stale, unoriginal and based on the guy's last name. But sometimes, a hockey nickname comes around that's so genius and so telling of the man behind it that you just have to stand up and applaud.

Cole Caufield's nickname exists in this pantheon of genius hockey names. Apparently, the diminutive forward was dubbed "The Cock" by the one and only Shea Weber.

Whether scoring goals or flashing his trademark grin, Montreal Canadiens forward Nick Suzuki always brings a smile to fans' faces and this past weekend at the Bell Centre was no different.

Suzuki took time during the pre-game warmup to make quite a refreshing deal with a fan, trading a puck for a pack of orange Tic Tacs. It gave his mom, Amanda Suzuki, a great Christmas idea.

We all know an Instagram pet that has more followers than we ever will — like Montreal's beloved Tika the Iggy — that provides our feed with the wholesome content we all need. And now, we've found another cutie for you to follow: Montreal Canadiens' rookie sensation Cole Caufield's pup, Olive.

On Instagram, Olive is known as @olivepawfield, and even though the account only started posting pictures of the pup on July 17, this furry canine has already racked up over 5,000 followers.
