Ah, the Habs. You either love them or you love to make fun of them. But they definitely have their great moments. The away game on April 9 between the Montreal Canadiens and the Toronto Maple Leafs took a clumsy if adorable turn when a player accidentally hit a kid in the face with a puck.

Steven Beauparlant brought his sons Jackson and Hunter to the Montreal Canadiens' away game in Toronto on April 9. The boys were looking forward to potentially meeting their idol, Habs assistant captain Nick Suzuki. Beauparlant told MTL Blog they each made signs to get the hockey player's attention and hoped to get photos with him.

The Habs' North Division victory has led to tension with fans of Montreal's rival team: the Toronto Maple Leafs, and you could say the CN Tower is to blame.

To celebrate the Canadiens becoming "Kings of the North," as they go on to represent Canada in the Stanley Cup semifinals, Toronto's CN Tower lit up in red, blue, and white on June 8 — and Leafs fans took to Twitter to express their displeasure.

The Habs' 3-1 victory against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday wasn't just emotional for the fans. It also had the players all riled up as they celebrated giving the Leafs the boot and progressing in the playoffs. 

When the final buzzer sounded, the pressure was off and the Habs let loose. The players returned to the locker room with smiles on their faces, as they screamed for joy — and even let out a few swear words.

At the end of Ontario Premier Doug Ford's reopening plan announcement on May 20, he filled Ontarians in on his request to bet on the Montreal Canadiens/Toronto Maple Leafs series, which started last night.

Ford said he asked Quebec Premier François Legault to bet on the first Habs/Leafs playoff game in a friendly switch of hockey jerseys for the winning and losing team.
