It seems as if winter is in full force across Quebec as we await the biggest snowstorm of the season. The snowstorm is expected to impose several meteorological hazards, including snowfall and a possible freezing rain weather warning from Environment Canada.

"A major storm is taking aim at Quebec through mid-week, with a swath of heavy snow, rain, strong winds and ice all on the table. This will be the biggest storm of the year for the province so far," The Weather Networks forecast centre indicated.

As spring break season fast approaches for students across Quebec, it seems as if incoming weather conditions just might impact vacation plans.

According to The Weather Network, a low-pressure system from the southwest of the United States is "loaded with moisture" from the Gulf of Mexico and unfortunately, it's heading north. In addition to Montreal receiving its first snowfall of the season, Quebec as a whole got nearly 50 centimetres of snow last weekend — proving that winter is returning with one heck of a vengeance. Well, it appears as if the snowy conditions aren't going anywhere as Environment Canada issued a few weather alerts for various parts of the province, including a snowfall, and snow squall warning.

EnviroCan issued a snowfall warning for Anticosti, Forillon National Park, Gaspé, Percé, Grande-Vallée and Sainte-Anne-des-Monts regions of Quebec where "close to 15 centimetres of snow is expected on Sunday."

Winter is returning full throttle this weekend as the province of Quebec is expected to be hit with up to 50 centimetres of snow by Monday, November 14. Southern Quebec has been feeling the wrath of a strong low-pressure system that has brought in generous amounts of precipitation and Eastern Quebec is next up.

Just when you thought winter was over, the Quebec weather said "psych!" Although things are certainly looking up for spring, we've got another snowstorm on our hands across the province. Environment Canada has issued a winter snowstorm warning for over 20 regions across Quebec, and it's not looking so hot.

The system could dump as much as 25 cm of snow on parts of the province through Monday, according to the federal weather agency. The Weather Network, meanwhile, predicts totals could reach 30 cm.

Time to mentally prepare for "significant snowfall." Environment Canada has put out a special weather statement warning of the possibility of a snow dump in Quebec this Friday.

"A low pressure system from the Great Lakes will move to lie over Southern Quebec on Friday morning," the federal agency said in the statement. "Precipitation associated with this system will reach Southern Quebec on Thursday evening and Central Quebec on Friday."
