When it comes to Montreal, there's no denying just how remarkable our food scene is. From top-rated restaurants, casual eats and brunch faves all the way to cheap bites and funky eateries, Montreal has got it all.

As for the best of the best, it appears as if one Montreal restaurant is the hottest spot right now. Time Out ranked the 50 Best Restaurants in Montreal and so many must-try spots made the list, but only one came out on top.

Time Out editors handpicked the current best Montreal restaurants for its 2024 ranking and none other than Île Flottante managed to land in the first spot.

Located in Montreal's Mile-End, Île Flottante, formerly known as Les Deux Singes de Montarvie, is known for its exquisite French dishes and sleek and stylish interior.

"After being beautifully welcomed by Nada Abou Younes, prepare to be seduced by a delightful seasonal cocktail by Jade Labonté Harvey, and then enchanted by the creations of chef Sean Murray Smith," Time Out said.

The publication highlighted several dishes offered at Île Flottante, including the crispy-skinned aged duck breast, which comes with a marinated persimmon gel and is served alongside a radicchio salad with caramelized clove-infused grapefruit, schmaltz, tarragon, and mirin. And that's just one dish.

The main attraction at Île Flottante is the restaurant's tasting menu, allowing you (and your palate) to savour the best of the best the Montreal restaurant has to offer. The tasting menu costs $115 per person and can be accompanied by a wine pairing for an additional $65, per OpenTable.

Wondering which other Montreal eateries made the cut? Here's the complete top 10 of the best Montreal restaurants right now, per Time Out:

  1. Île Flottante
  2. Vin Mon Lapin
  3. Mousso
  4. Toqué
  5. Okeya Kyujiro
  6. Park
  7. Moccione
