This New St-Laurent Brunch Spot Looks Like An Indoor Terrasse With Cartoon Graffiti Walls

Where summer and your childhood can live on forever. 🌞
Contributing Writer

Two of the best parts of the Montreal food scene are definitely brunch and cocktails. Well, what if you could bring them together to create Montreal's coolest new brunch and cocktail spot. Well, that's exactly what Christ Desjardins and Carlos Jimenez thought when they started Café Mimosa, which will open on September 19.

Following the mentality of "Work hard. Brunch harder," Café Mimosa is about to make your favourite meal even better.

Done in a super urban, yet chic way with graffiti and an indoor terrasse, the new spot is sure to be everything that you're looking for in a brunch joint.

Christ, who is also a co-owner of Bootlegger Bar and General Manager of Café Mimosa, told me that he wants to be that place that you remember when you think of all of your best restaurant memories.

"No matter what, you'll remember the good times. And Café Mimosa is going to be one of those places," Christ told me.

The team also knows that going to a bar or a restaurant is not just about the menu.

"We don't just want to just sell you food: We want to sell you an EXPERIENCE."

"Anyone can make themselves a drink at home. When you go to a bar or a restaurant you're there for what you can't get at home: having an unforgettable time."

And the menu doesn't just want to make your typical ranchos huevos or eggs benedict. You'll find a Café Mimosa twist on pretty much everything.

Including a $300 steak and eggs.

That's right. $300.

But if it's as good as Christ told me, it sounds like it's going to be worth it.

Don't worry though, not everything will cost you an arm and a leg.

And if you're wondering, yes — you'll be able to get a mimosa with everything.

The team hopes to one day have monthly menus, with a different spirit infused into the items every month.

In the meantime, I can't wait for this new spot to open and add it to my list of brunch places to try in the city!
