As the province's "Youth Week" rolls along, Quebec Health Minister Christian Dubé announced that 50% of Quebecers aged 25 to 29 have already received a vaccine dose or are scheduled to get one.

Dubé told MTL Blog, "I have always had confidence in the 18-34-year-olds of Quebec. They have shown exemplary solidarity and made extraordinary sacrifices since the beginning of the pandemic."

On May 14, vaccination appointments opened for everyone aged 18 and older, meaning that any adult Quebecer who wants to get a vaccine dose can do so.

110,000 doses were administered on May 13, according to the minister — a new single-day record. Over 3,890,000 adults have already received their first dose.

363,000 Quebecers aged 18 to 34 have received their first dose, according to the ministry's data.

"The sooner we vaccinate, the sooner we'll have a great summer," said the health minister.
