A 15-Year-Old Has Died After A Shooting In Montreal

The shooting occurred Sunday evening in Saint-Léonard.

A 15-year-old young woman has died following a shooting in the Montreal borough of Saint-Léonard that also left a 21-year-old with a non-life-threatening injury.

According to an SPVM spokesperson, authorities received a 911 call concerning gunshots on rue Valdombre near rue Jean-Talon at around 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 7.

The young woman was a passenger in a parked vehicle. She was injured in her upper body and transported to the hospital where she later passed away.

The 21-year-old man was found a block away on rue de Côme, having fled the scene after the gunshots, according to police.

According to preliminary information, the young woman was one of two people inside the vehicle speaking with three people on the sidewalk, including the 21-year-old man.

The suspect's vehicle then approached and fired gunshots in their direction.

Police say the unidentified suspects are two men in their 20s. They were wearing masks.

As of 9:30 a.m. on Monday morning, investigators and crime scene technicians were still on-site.

The investigation is ongoing.
