There's Now A Proposed Class-Action Against Pornhub's Montreal-Based Parent Company
Law firm Siskinds, Desmeules Advocats has introduced a proposed class-action against Pornhub's parent company, MindGeek.

The would-be class-action alleges that the company "has profited off of child sexual abuse material and non-consensual content since 2007."

"According to the application for authorization to institute the class action," a press release reads, "MindGeek is alleged to have monetized unverified user content while failing to employ enough properly trained content moderators to review images on its website."
It also says the company has had "no or inadequate policies and procedures to screen and remove all abuse and non-consensual content that was uploaded by unverified users."

In response to a New York Times opinion piece alleging that the company "[profits] off videos of exploitation and assault," Pornhub introduced new measures to address non-consensual content.
The proposed class-action is seeking "a minimum of $600 million in compensation for all persons worldwide who, since 2007, had intimate videos or photos (including child sexual abuse material, images of sexual assault and non-consensual intimate images) posted without their consent."
Siskinds, Desmeules Advocats has filed the proposed class-action in Quebec Superior Court in Montreal.
