Free Just For Laughs shows you can catch in Montreal this month

The Just For Laughs festival is making its return to Montreal from July 18 to 28 and the lineup is not to be missed.

While the programming has been scaled back, following news that the renowned comedy festival would be skipping out on this year's festivities, there are still tons of hilarious sets and events taking place across the 10-day festival.

With a series of indoor and outdoor performances, Montrealers and visitors alike will be able to enjoy both paid and free shows. Tickets for venue acts are currently on sale, as is the Comediha! pass, which grants you access to nearly 200 shows across the Quebec City and Montreal festival.

For the free spectacles, we've compiled a quick list of shows you can catch over the course of the Just For Laughs festival, which will take place at the Vidéotron Stage at Place des Festivals.

Here are three shows to look out for:

Kickback Comedy

When: July 18 to 21 and 25 to 28 at 7 p.m.

Where: Scène Vidéotron — Quartier des Spectacles

Why You Need To Go: From Thursday to Sunday expect a Happy Hour filled with laughter, music and fun times, where you’ll have a chance to win show tickets. Hosted by Eva Alexo and Erika Suarez, English and French comedians will be taking the stage. Guests will be able to discover new talent, play new games and make new friends. Bring your crew along or come alone and get ready to laugh out loud.

Kickback Comedy at Just For Laughs

Dane Cook

When: Saturday, July 27 at 9:15 p.m.

Where: Scène Vidéotron — Quartier des Spectacles

Why You Need To Go: Dane Cook is set to take the stage by storm. The comedian is considered to be a trailblazer in comedy and acting, and has appeared in a handful of successful stand-up specials. Now, the Just For Laughs festival is getting a taste of Cook this month and you can enjoy it all for free.
