If you're not ready to embrace fall just yet, then you're in luck. The weather in Montreal will go from autumn vibes to summer-like highs by the end of the week, transporting us back to July again.

No, there won't be weekly fireworks visible from the Jacques-Carter Bridge and you'll have to ignore your local Dollarama's Halloween costume display, but — according to MétéoMédia's weather report — temperatures could reach 27 C in southern Quebec on Thursday and Friday, and feel above 30 C.

That's 5 to 8 degrees higher than Montreal's mid-September average of 22 C and quite a jump from Sunday's high of 13 C.

MétéoMédia is also predicting clear skies for much of the province over the next few days and lots of sunshine over the course of the week, nearing the maximum number of sunny hours possible per day on multiple occasions.

However, all good things must come to an end, and MétéoMédia says a weather system — possibly the "remnants of a potential tropical storm in the Gulf of Mexico" — could end a "perfect week" when it enters the province during the second part of the weekend.

But, hey, it could always be worse. You could be living in western Quebec, which saw its first snowflakes fall over the weekend.

"Some regions, particularly Abitibi-Témiscamingue and the Laurentians, could also experience their first frost of the season over the next two nights," MétéoMédia says.

Look on the bright side, Montreal — both figuratively and literally. This week's 'summer in September' weather will provide plenty of opportunities to do just that.
