Cineplex has announced that it'll be reopening eight movie theatres across Quebec on Friday, July 3. To welcome back movie-goers, Cineplex has decided to mark the occasion with a $5 movie deal! The popular theatre chain will reopen cinemas in three phases throughout the month of July.
Prioritizing safety and security above all else, Cineplex will implement enhanced cleaning and health measures.
Physical distancing will be enforced and it's recommended that all customers wear masks. Keep in mind that there will be reduced capacity in all theatres.
"The past three months have given us a new appreciation for the importance of friends and family and the power of shared experiences with those we love," said Ellis Jacob, President and CEO, Cineplex.
"Entertaining is what we do best, and we simply can't wait to safely welcome guests back to our theatres for some much-deserved entertainment, fun and escape."
Cineplex will open five theatres in the Montreal area, as well as theatres in Sherbrooke, Gatineau, and Sainte-Foy.
The first theatres to open on the Island of Montreal will be the Scotiabank Theatre and the Cineplex Quartier Latin.
The eight Quebec theatres opening in the first phase are:
Cineplex Odeon Brossard Cinemas and VIP, Brossard,
Starcite Gatineau Cinemas, Gatineau,
Cineplex Cinemas Kirkland, Kirkland,
Cineplex Cinemas Laval, Laval,
Cineplex Odeon Latin Quarter Cinemas, Montreal,
Scotiabank Theatre Montreal, Montreal,
Galaxy Cinemas Sherbrooke, Sherbrooke, and
Cineplex Odeon Ste. Foy Cinemas, Sainte Foy.
According to a press release, "Cineplex will be offering $5 tickets and showing popular new releases you may have missed in theatres like Docteur?, Bloodshot, The Invisible Man, Sonic The Hedgehog, 14 Jours, 12 Nuits, Mafia Inc., Les Nôtres, Jumanji: The Next Level, Bad Boys For Life, and Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey."
In addition to physical distancing and reduced capacity, Cineplex will also implement several more rules including reserved seating, accepting only debit and credit payments, limiting food offerings to popcorn and other small snacks, and closing VIP cinemas for the time being.
