A 911 call was placed for a young woman who fell through a hole on a Montreal construction site during the evening of October 25.

The emergency call was received around 10:45 p.m. regarding this event that occurred on the Pie-IX bridge. 

A representative from Service de sécurité incendie de Montréal told MTL Blog that the victim is a young woman between 16 to 18 years of age, who was reportedly "intoxicated by alcohol" at the time of the incident.

The girl was removed from the hole by Montreal firefighters using ropes. The entire rescue is said to have taken approximately an hour.

Urgences-santé said the victim was conscious when emergency personnel arrived on the scene.

During her fall, she had apparently injured her ankle.

The teenage girl was transported immediately to a trauma centre following her rescue.

Urgences-santé had no updates on her current condition and remain unsure of how the teenager fell through the construction hole.
