Video Producer

On this episode of First Up, host Alex Melki gives you a walking tour of the all-new REM train cars. The REM is being built from the West Island of Montreal, through the downtown core, into Brossard and Deux-Montagnes, Quebec.

Construction is set to be completed sometime in 2022.

The REM is an automated light rail system, a passenger train powered by electricity. They’re already in cities all over the world like Paris, Shanghai, and Dubai.

It's also fully automated, with no driver on board. Instead, it's operated remotely from a command centre.
