Such has resulted in a "major IT outage" on various of its platforms.

According to the company, the virus has not had any effect on the normal operations of its bus or metro systems.

But, the STM is warning people against using its partner applications — the Montreal STM Bus - MonTransit app and the Chrono app — for the time being.

The public transit company continued its above tweet by adding, "Our paratransit service is only carrying out trips for medical reasons and is unable to take any reservations or modifications of trips at this time."

We are being reassured that a team is "working to restore the situation as soon as possible."

No further details about the situation have been released at this moment.
