The Montreal Canadiens have named Nick Suzuki the team's 31st captain. He follows Shea Weber, who wrapped up a four-year stint at captain this year.

At 23, Suzuki is the youngest captain in Canadiens history, the team said in a press release.

Joel Edmundson and Brendan Gallagher will serve as the team's alternate captains.
