On Thursday morning, the Société des alcools du Québec (SAQ) announced a price increase for 1,828 products. They'll cost an average of 1.8%, or $0.42, more as of Sunday, August 16, 2020.

926 products will not see a price increase while 44 will actually see their prices go down.

However, the SAQ has cancelled its "second increase normally scheduled for November," according to a statement.

The first increases of the year are usually scheduled for May, but the Crown corporation decided to postpone them due to the pandemic.

The company remains "committed to always offering fair and competitive prices for the products it markets" and "negotiates closely with its suppliers to offer the lowest prices in Canada."
