Montreal's Royalmount mega-mall is set to open this upcoming August, and it's safe to say that Quebec is about to get a lot more luxe.

The upcoming Royalmount mall, spearheaded by real estate developer Carbonleo, promises to redefine the shopping experience with over 170 stores, 60 cafés and restaurants, an entertainment venue, a spa, integrated green spaces and more.

While Royalmount kept its directory of stores a secret for some time, the mall announced a handful of luxury brands and shops that would be opening as part of the mall's first phase last year, including Saint Laurent, Versace, Jimmy Choo and TAG Heuer as well as Acuité Visuelle, Aldo, Arc'teryx, Bikini Village, Browns, Dynamite, Garage, influenceu, La Vie en Rose, Mackage, Moose Knuckles and RUDSAK.

As for the food options, much of that has been kept under wraps… until now.

Le Fou Fou, a groundbreaking European-style food hall spearheaded by entrepreneur David Haas, will officially be opening up at the Royalmount. Teaming up with Carbonleo, this venture promises to redefine Montreal's culinary scene, blending culinary mastery with technology and hospitality.

Spanning over 30,000 square feet, Le Fou Fou offers 12 culinary concepts, four bars and an indoor-outdoor space for up to 900 guests, all envisioned by design firm LemayMichaud.

Featuring renowned chefs like Tony Messina and Hanhak Kim, Le Fou Fou promises a diverse culinary experience from dawn to dusk, complemented by cutting-edge technology for seamless service.

The concept is being led by Jay Coldren, a seasoned food hall specialist with a rich career history at Time Out Market, Dean & DeLuca, EDITION Hotels and The Inn at Little Washington.

"The ethos of Le Fou Fou is to craft a unique environment where each individual can savour a symphony of sensory delights on their own terms. Our aspiration is for every guest to leave feeling energized by their experience at Le Fou Fou, and to depart with a lingering question: 'When are we coming back?'" Haas said in a press release.

Le Fou Fou's schedule promises to captivate with a diverse range of events, spanning from captivating art exhibitions to vibrant DJ performances, communal dining experiences and luxurious weekend brunch affairs.

The first phase of the Royalmount mega-mall is set to open on August 15, 2024, and Le Fou Fou is set to open the same month.
