Summer is gearing up to be a festival-filled season in Montreal and foodies can officially add a Vietnamese street food festival to their things-to-do list.

Chợ Đêm MTL is returning for its second edition this summer at Montreal's Bassin Peel where Vietnamese culture will be on full display. The food festival will run along the waterfront of the Lachine Canal and include eating stations, live performances of both modern and folk songs and dance, V-pop, Vietnamese martial arts and more.

Montreal foodies will be able to sample an abundance of gourmet dishes, many of which you'll find at the traditional Vietnamese night market from July 18 to 21, 2024.

Guests can access the festival from rue de la Commune O., at the northern edge of Montreal's Griffintown. Chợ Đêm MTL will run during both lunch and evening hours depending on the day and officially kick off on July 18 at 6 p.m. with an opening ceremony.

The 2023 edition of Chợ Đêm MTL required a $3 entry fee, with dishes typically priced between $5 and $20. While the 2024 prices have yet to be announced, MTL Blog will update this article once Chợ Đêm MTL reveals them.

A few foodie faves from last year's festival include Vietnamese classics including bánh mì, spring rolls, dumplings, bubble waffles, grilled meats, iced coffees and Vietnamese-style fried chicken, to name a few.
