A man is in the hospital after being shot in the lower body in Old Montreal Monday morning. Police were called to the area after "many gunshots" were heard near rue Gosford at around 3:15 a.m., SPVM media relations officer Jean-Pierre Brabant said.

The man, aged 29, had sustained "at least" one gunshot wound. He was arrested and is considered "suspect," Brabant explained.

A new study by the Institut de la statistique du Québec breaks down the percentage of Quebecers who smoke cigarettes versus the percentage who vape. Did you know that the percentage of Quebecers aged 25 to 34 who smoke cigarettes is three times higher than the percentage that vapes

As the province's "Youth Week" rolls along, Quebec Health Minister Christian Dubé announced that 50% of Quebecers aged 25 to 29 have already received a vaccine dose or are scheduled to get one.

The Autorité régionale de transport métropolitain (ARTM) is overhauling the pricing system for public transit in Montreal and its surrounding areas over the next four years, starting in July — and it recently released more details on how the fare reform will work.

A new poll by the Institut national de santé publique (INSPQ) shows that boomers are right to suggest young people aged 18 to 24 aren't following COVID-19 rules as much as other age groups in Quebec.  

The poll revealed that Quebec Gen Z-ers who fall within the 18 to 24 age range are still the least likely to consider themselves at risk of contracting the novel coronavirus, as well as the least likely to practice all the different recommended health measures — from social distancing to hand-washing to avoiding crowds.

The Quebec Association of Proprietor Pharmacists (AQPP) has released new data on the use of antidepressants in Quebec during COVID-19 — and some of the findings are "worrisome," according to a press release published by the AQPP on February 18.

The association found that antidepressant usage in Quebecers aged 18 to 34 increased by 9.5% from 2019 to 2020. It also found a "considerable increase" in new antidepressant users aged 65 and over.
