Whether you're a fan of hockey, art, or both, the Artist Series presented by Loto-Québec is giving you the chance to win one of 11 Habs-inspired paintings created by emerging Montreal artists.

By the end of the season, 12 artists will have created (live from the Bell Centre) artwork showcasing their take on the rivalry between the Montreal Canadiens and the team they'll have faced each Saturday. You can find art by Meka, Mono Sourcil, Zek, Franco Rama, Le Bicar, TEETZ WORLD, Stack Moolah, Korb, Chien Champion, Benny Wilding, Dodo and Johnny Crap.

Montreal is packed with talent, but there's no denying that not everyone gets the same opportunities to express their talent as others. That's exactly why Chuong Trinh, otherwise known as Lil Waterboi, decided to start Bahay Collective in 2019 — because he felt as though there wasn't enough representation for BIPOC artists in the Montreal music scene.

"Our ambition has always been to support the local and BIPOC scene. We originally focused on the Asian community because when I started making music, I didn't see a lot of things like this," he explained.

A Montreal-based comics company, Horizon Comics Production, is currently suing Marvel for copyright infringement. This is their second attempt at suing Marvel Entertainment and its parent company, Disney.

The trouble all started when Ben and Raymond Lai, the founders of Horizon Comics Production, saw Iron Man 3. The Iron Man suit got a shiny redesign for this film, one that the Lai brothers felt was too similar to the suit worn by Caliban, a character in Horizon Comic's Radix series from 2001.

Quebec's Minister for the Fight Against Racism is trying to laugh off an awkward situation at the Dynastie Gala. On stage at the sixth edition of the event honouring Black artists on March 5, Minister Benoit Charette began listing names of recently deceased cultural contributors. That list included club Balattou and Festival International Nuits d’Afrique founder Lamine Touré.

The problem: Touré is very much alive — and was just metres from Charette in the gala audience that night.
