The Just For Laughs 2024 edition will not be taking place this year in Montreal after all. The renowned comedy festival, which takes over Downtown Montreal each and every summer, has been cancelled.

The Groupe Juste Pour Rire Inc., which owns and operates the Montreal festival, announced on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, that it has filed a Notice of intention to make a proposal under Canada's Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act.
